Your senior year of college has an upside and of course with an upside there is always a downside. The upside is the fact that you have one year of college left, you have only one year of test taking left, one year of writing notes in class so fast that you can't even read what you wrote. And the downside....finding a job for AFTER the big day you walk across that stage and get handed a piece of paper. I have been using the resources such as Career Builder and Monster.com to help me in my job finding needs. Yesterday I got a phone call from a promotions company in Arizona and then today I got a call from another company in Dallas, TX. The conversation today however was my favorite by far. Man: Hi Stacy, my name is Mike and we got your resume and we wanted to let you know everything looks great and we want to meet with you as soon as possible. Do you think you could come in sometime? Me: Well, I live in Kansas and I have class at 2:30. (said with a chuckle) Man: Hahaha, well how are things in Kansas? Is it snowing? Me: No, its about 75 degrees, no sign of snow yet. Man: Well good, so when will you make it to Dallas you think? Me: I don't graduate until May, does that matter? Man: Oooooh, I guess I just saw that on your resume. Fun times in job finding. I think I won't submit my resume to any other companies until the beginning of next year, however it isn't my fault that employers can't read my graduation date. |
